Provides local youth and young adults ages 16-24 with paid work experience, environmental education, and the opportunity to explore careers and develop work-readiness skills. Youth work with a crew of peers outdoors on a variety of environmental projects for approximately eight weeks during the summer. We contract with five local service providers to deliver the program (The Center for Social and Environmental Stewardship; Conservation Corps North Bay, Petaluma People Services Center, Social Advocates for Youth, and West County Community Services).

This is a year-round supportive program available to youth and young adults ages 16-24 who need help meeting their education or employment goals. A wide variety of services are available, such as: resume and interview assistance; work experience and internship opportunities; occupational skills training; tutoring and academic support; education and career planning assistance; and one on one support during the program and for a year after exit. There are also opportunities for some young adults to participate in a year-long program, comprised of six months of crew work similar to SCYEC, followed by a six month internship with a County of Sonoma Water Agency.
